Come on Give Them the Bloody Highlands

Interesting and Historical- can Scotland be Independent?

The English are trying very, very hard to put pressure on every Scot to no be independent or rather dependent on England. The fact that this is coming back up should tell us un-educated, that there is something under the hood going on. Why would people of Scotland even consider breaking away from the current situation? Again from a non-researched perspective one could imply that maybe this group of people are not being supported or given equal say in a country they are a big part of? Maybe these people are tired of laws and rules in place that do not help them get that voice? Just thoughts.
England should be nervous, a lot of their economy and business revenues are in Scotland. So much so that they are even teaming up with the financial institutions to threaten jobs and security of the new nation if voted yes. Can the banks and businesses stay in Scotland even under a new country, absolutely? Will they need to help get the country off the ground and fight some early hardships, absolutely? It’s an opportunity not a problem, they can have a say in forming the new government and policies. They can guide some principals of financial means in their direction. Yes there are going to be lows but long term it may be well worth it.

People should be allowed to be free, and should be allowed to have a country if the majority of people want it. We should help that country as friends to stabilize and get their feet off the ground. We being the US. I would also think it to be wise that if the vote is for independence, instead of being pissy, sour-grapes, England should help. You know at one time in history Scotland was its own country! You did take it away by force! You did not give them a chance to see if they wanted to be part of your then empire. Maybe your restitution for that should be lending a hand and not turning your back if that happens.

I love one article I read about Scotland defending itself and saying to be fully in a process of perpetuating the defense of your nation (aka training, building bases, hierarchy etc) it may take 20 -30 years. Hello, they are going to have to prioritize defense and plan it out for the entire future and not just 20 – 30 years. You the difference between Scotland becoming independent and the old Soviet blocks being independent? Nothing! Yet the Soviets help (well I know now with Ukraine) try to take it back. Lol. However my point is other countries have broken free and survived with help, Scotland would be no different.  It will hurt England and I would assume they would fight to keep everything together, but in the end the outcome should be still working together whether as one country or two!
