Redskins- the sensativity of society

I think, with how ridiculously sensitive people are and how we as a society let them, we should just call sport teams numbers. Washington 7’s or Detroit 10’s so on and so on. I mean come on, I am sure if we asked PETA about depicting Ferocious Bears, Lions, Falcons etc. they would say it inaccurately depicts the gentle creatures.. so cross animal names of the list. How about Patriots or something of that nature? Well if you look at the old school Pat picture it’s a white colonial, well he probably discriminated against women or non-European peoples, so nope to that. Titans? Inaccurately depicts Greek inspired creatures…you get my drift.  Numbers just then seems logical, who can complain about numbers?

And before you go all “this is about skin color RED SKINS” well then let them change to Paleskins, big fricken deal. But wait can’t have something actually highlighting the evil white male/people. Even though through history all races, religions, genders have been slaves in massive amounts. History could be argued was built on slave labor and history is color blind, it has never cared. As far as understanding the Native American Plight, well were the Native Americans here today, the actual first people that were here? Nope, there was a previous group that had moved in and somehow died out, so really they are not Native at all, just here before “Europeans”. Also I don’t see this country’s history as any different than the Mongols controlling mid-Asia and Western Europe or the Persians or Romans in Europe, or the Aztecs in Central America… People have been conquered and assimilated through history. Honestly, it wasn’t pretty how thing happened here but it has happened worse, in other times. I have never heard of peoples being compensated in Europe by Italy or Greece or Mongolia because of previous conquering? Is it because it is more modern in our timeframe that makes it different?

It’s funny how we decide to cut off talking history or make history relevant when it suites a purpose. Anything before or after is somehow not considered, like it didn’t count or something. If you don’t believe any of this, than go look for yourself, research.
